At PremiAir we pride ourselves on the use of Biodiesel since 2005. We have the capabilities to provide the event with a blend of B20, B50 and B100 in all our equipment as well as use biodiesel in all out transport and staff vehicles. Post event we can calculate the CO2 saving used on our portion of equipment and supply a certificate that will demonstrate the environmental benefits of using Soybiodiesel.
PremiAir Events supplied the Peats Ridge Festival in 2010 with 9742 litres of Soybiodiesel B100 blend. This is a 100% pure blend of biofuel that is made from soy oil removed as a by-product during the processing of soybean. The 9472 litres was used on the event to run all generators and lighting towers onsite. Variable message boards were all run off solar power with no impact on the environment.
The following calculations were made:
9742 / 1000 = 9.742 kL x 2.7t CO₂ -eq = 26.25t CO₂ -eq
This achievement enhanced the environmental outcome of the event by abating 26.25t of carbon dioxide equivalent into the environment from our proportion of hired equipment. The above equation has taken into consideration the following information:
Soybiodiesel delivers a net Greenhouse Gas reduction of 78% compared to fossil diesel across the entire lifecycle.
This is equivalent to 2.7 tonnes of CO2-eq abated for each kL of Soybiodiesel used in place of fossil diesel.
The Australian Government‟s proposed Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme has applied a „Zero-Rating‟ to Soybiodiesel delivering a 2.7 tonne abatement of CO2-eq for each kL used in place of fossil diesel.
